After breakfast drive to Kuchaman and check into Kuchaman fort . Day 04: Kuchaman to Khimsar (165 Kms/3 Hrs)
After breakfast at hotel drive to Khimsar and check into Fort, the 16th century old grand for is suspended near the splendid Thar Desert. The yellow coloured, Khimsar fort is the rare example of typical Rajasthani architecture. The fort is now converted into a heritage hotel The fort architecture of Khimsar offers great heterogeneity. Originally, the fort walls, turrets, and stables were built solely for war, and were constructed around the beginning of the 16th century. Subsequently, by mid 18th century, the royal family moved in when a new zenana or ladies‘ residence was constructed Finely carved windows in stone were constructed in this section for providing purdah or veil for the ladies in waiting. Thakur Onkar Singh, the present chief and the 17th direct descendant of Rao Karamsi (the original builder of the fort) built himself a regal additional wing in the 1940‘s. Today, this fort ranks amongst the premier Heritage Hotels of India. Jeep Safaris can be organized but require an advance notice. The excursion runs deep into the heart of the desert as hunting around the settlement is banned. After Breakfast drive to Rohet and check into Rohetgarh Fort . Rohetgarh, an isolated, undiscovered and unspoilt village is situated in the desert region of Rajasthan. Rohetgarh is located about 40 kms from Jodhpur. Rohetgarh is situated in the region of Marwar, and expresses an enigma of valour, battle and chivalry. Today, Rohetgarh is known for the Rohet Garh, a heritage hotel. The Bishnois, who were the protectors of nature and responsible for the survival of the blackbuck antelope; the semi nomadic Raika shepherds of Marwar; Paliwals and Meghwals are some of the famous local people of Rohetgarh. Sardar Singh, one of the most powerful Dhodhias, built the Sardargarh Fort during 1738 to 1743. You can see the ramparts of the mystery filled Sardargarh, like a great ship anchored at outer sea, much before you get close to the gigantic walls soaring high above the low lying village of Lawa. Magnificent fort of Sardargarh is situated 94km north from Udaipur.The emblem of the Sardar Singh family was a rising sun and a sword.
