Kovalam Beach
This international beach, 12 km south of Thiruvananthapuram city, is one of the finest beaches in India. A high rocky promontory jutting into the sea has created a beautiful bay of calm waters for sea bathing. The India Tourism Development Corporation had developed Kovalam as an integrated seaside resort which includes a string of cottages, the Halcyon castle, a shopping area, swimming pools, yoga centre, facilities for medicinal oil bath & massage Kovalam is one of the most popular beach hangouts in India. Kovalam means a grove of coconut trees and truly the coconut trees along the beaches gives it a ravishing look. The palm-fringed bays in secluded coconut groves, promise a relaxed stay. The boundless blue waters of the Arabian Sea and miles of white sands washed away by the surf at the feet of the stalwart palms and the rocky promontories, makes Kovalam beach paradise.
Varkala Beach
Varkala, 50 km from Trivandrum, is one of the famous and upcoming beaches in South India. Varkala is famous for its quiet secluded stretch of sand. The Papanasam beach in Varkala is known for its mineral springs and rocky cliffs. The 2000 year old Sree Janardhana Swamy temple and the Nature care centre are the two main attractions here.
Shanghumukham Beach
Near Trivandrum airport, this picturesque beach is an ideal spot for watching the dusk. The tourists can also see the fishermen using the fishing nets from the sea. There are also eating outlets on the beach The other attraction of this area is the 35-m long sculpture of mermaid.

Alappuzha Beach
This is one of the most popular picnic spots in aAappuzha. The dock, which extends into the sea here, is about 140 years old. The Alppuzha beach is dazzling. It is at 8 km from Kanhangad, Kasargod.
Cherayi Beach (Kochi)
15 Kilometre long Cherai Beach is the best clean golden beach of Kerala and is called “ The Prnicess of the Queen of the Arabian sea”. 45 kms from Ernakulam city, this lovely beach bordering vypeen island is ideal for swimming. Dolphins are occasionally seen here
Fort Kochi Beach
Overlooking the Arabian sea with its legendary Chinese fishing nets dotting the foreground, Fort Kochi beach offers a view of spectacular sunsets. Another highlights here are the water front stalls serving fresh catch prepared according to taste.
Payyambalam Beach
Famous for its flat latterite cliffs that just out into the sea, well-laid gardens and the massive landscape sculpture of mother and child make this beach extremely captivating. The adjacent Baby Beach accessed through the Burnassery cantonment is delightfully quite.
Muzhappilangad
A swimmer’s paradise, this is Kerala’s only drive-in beach. Adventure sports like paragliding, parasailing, micro-light flights and a variety of water sports options are possible here.
